Freshman Class

We are only five months into the new year and there have already been a wave of new artists looking to claim 2015. Below is a list of 2015’s most promising acts to date:

One cannot deny the magic that is Fetty Wap biggest hit to date Trap Queen, which has reached a new peak of #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. So far, it has been #2 for two weeks behind the  5 week top chart topper See You Again by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth.

Next up is an artist that made her television debut yesterday on GMA, singer-songwriter Rachel Platten. Her hit Fight Song is showing great promise and is currently resting comfortably at #4 on the iTunes download chart. The fighter anthem reminds me of Katy Perry’s 2013 chart topping hit Roar and Sara Bareilles’ hit song Brave. Platten’s hit joins a list of successful power anthems that have dominated the airwaves in the past. Look for 2015 to be quite the year for this young starlet.

Next up is the breakout group of 2015 WALK THE MOON, whose hit song Shut Up and Dance is climbing the hot 100. Thus far it has reached a peak at #5. They made their television debut a couple months ago and rocked the house. Does this group have the staying power to chart another smash hit? We’ll have to wait and see, but one thing is for certain, this band won’t be shutting up any time soon.

Another artist on the rise is an artist that will be touring with Fifth Harmony later this year, Natalie La Rose. Her debut hit Somebody featuring Jeremih has already charted in the top ten on the Hot 100. On top of having a major hit, she’s got the looks, the moves and the sass that could take her very far in the business and for that she has made the 2015 Freshman class.
